ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Board Certified in both Family Practice and holistic Medicine, Dr. Grose began her career as a full-time, academic member at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and has had formal training in epidemiology and family therapy, leading her to a Masters in Public Health from the School of Public Health, the University of Texas Houston, and to certification in Family Therapy by the Houston-Galveston Family Institute. Her deep interest in patient care is reflected in her practice, where she combines complementary therapies with traditional treatments. “I emphasize preventive medicine, because a patient’s lifestyle and daily habits create the conditions for health or disease.
I look at every aspect that could have a bearing upon an illness – spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical. It isn’t enough just to treat the symptoms. I want to know the cause. I’m a partner with the patient in the healing process, and I believe that the patient must take responsibility for his or her health.” This individualized and caring approach to treatment has earned great praise from her patients, who appreciate her personal interest as well as her special knowledge and experience.
Dr. Grose is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Medical Association, the American Holistic Medical Association, the Institute of Functional Medicine, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
