ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The presentation will chronicle the story of Dr. Crowder’s father’s struggle with chronic illness since 2004 and discuss the issues of medical ethics, family support, continuity of care, and the role of faith in healing.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Jerome Crowder, PhD, Associate Professor, Institute for the Medical Humanities, Preventative Care and Community Health, UTMB
Dr. Crowder is a visual and medical anthropologist who over the past 20 years has worked in Bolivia, Peru, Houston and Galveston. His latest work focuses on the everyday challenges of chronic illness faced by his father.
